We believe that children, their families and communities should be empowered to participate in all stages of the projects/program that affect them, and that our work should be sustainable. This includes working on methods to share or recover costs; to have users pay for services; to reduce subsidies for hardware  (unless they are well targeted); to set appropriate standards for participation; to build the communities’ and institutions’ capacity to manage and sustain infrastructure; and to work with the private sector on social marketing, commodities and services.
